Sweet Red Wines

2003 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Producer: Farnese
Italy's Abruzzo Region
Grape: Montepulciano
Bottle Price: $23.99

Background
We've long considered Montepulciano D'Abruzzo one of the great values on the market and this one is extremely well made.

Pierluigi Giachi of Tenuta Torciano has produced a "fruit forward" red wine in both the nose and the palate which is the identical style which made this category of wine a number one seller in Great Britain several years ago.

The Montepulciano grape is thought to be a clone of the Sangiovese which explains the round rich fruity nature of the wine and its soft tannins.  This is a wine everyone should try!

Food Parings
A delightful red with Italian dishes such as Lasagna and Penne Pasta and perfect as that simple addition to your neighborhood pizza delivery. The more you enjoy this wine the more things you'll find it goes with.

Cellar Hints
Enjoy now! This wine will hold up for a couple of years with proper storage but it is crafted for immediate enjoyment and that's how you should use it!
