Description
The Wolf Blass P.S. 2001 Shiraz is a deep red in colour with purple
hues. Intense aromas of spiced fruit, chocolate oak characters with
a hint of varietal pepper. These characters are again evident on the
rich and full-bodied palate with sweet fruit and excellent
structure. The finish is long and lingering with an added texture
from fine grained tannins.
Origin
The selection of grapes used in the Presidents Selection Shiraz are
drawn from top quality sites in the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and
Langhorne Creek. These are mainly very old, low yield Shiraz vines.
Wolf Blass has been producing some of the finest wines in Australia
since 1966 and continues to lead the Australian winemaking industry
by example. Great fruit and uncompromised winemaking technique is
the hallmark of these tremendous wines!
Food Parings
In the winery the staff chef uses this wine with roasted leg of lamb
and vegetable gratin. Its size and style would match up well with
Prime Rib, venison and southern styled barbecued pork.
