The 2001 Spaetlese was hailed as a tremendous release for Florian and its honest, excitingly aggressive style is a real pleasure to enjoy. He has been blessed with a vineyard site in this wine that offers up complex fruit that has something of an urgency in overall style. 

Look for an initial layer of classic
 Riesling tastes followed by a basket of tropical fruit flavors, including papaya, mango and tropical vanilla.

I love spaetlese with pork dishes, German wurst (sausages), roasted turkey and chicken or by itself.

Keep it cool (55-65 degrees F).  Spaetlese is normally consumed within 7 or 8 years of being bottled
