Description/Palate
This late harvested wine is full
bodied and rich with mouth filling ripe apricot, pineapple and honey
overtones. The good acid balance results in a firm, lush, lingering
finish that is very focused.
Background
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer is Germanys fifth
largest wine growing region. Predomiantly planted with RIESLING. The
river banks rise so sharply that the vineyards carpeting these slopes
are among the steepest in the world.
Piesport is certainly one of the most
famous wine villages in Germany, producing outstanding wines in the
well known "Mosel" style.
The grapes for this wine were grown in slate soil, which is typical
for the Mosel area and provides a unique benefit. The slate soil store
the heat of the sun during the day time and gives it back to the vines
at night and by doing so stimulates the grape growth in a natural way.
The harmonious climate, warm summers and mild winters are typical for
this growing area.
Food Parings

cheeses and desserts.
