Description:
The 2003 growing season was
as close as it gets to being perfect. The quality of Northern
California grapes from this vintage is considered superb. The
vineyards in the Russian River Valley yielded a balanced crop of
clean, healthy and flavorful grapes that reflected the mild, long
growing season with bright & lush aromas and flavors.
The first aromas in the
2004
J Brut suggest a rich, complex and lively methode champenoise wine.
Pear, sun-kissed citrus, baked apple, light vanilla and roasted
almond aromas with a slight bisquity nuance greet the taster, all
carried by the delicate effervescence. The palate is lush with
flavors and refreshing in nature, ending with a light smoky flavor
and a long citrus note. The acidity gives just enough liveliness to
make the wine match with a variety of foods and makes one anticipate
the next sip.
Origin:
The Russian River Valley is
home to J Vineyards & Winery, where we believe the magic of this
valley, coupled with fine, handcrafted winemaking technique is a
dazzling combination.
J Vineyards & Winery was founded in 1986. Judy Jordan, owner and
CEO, leads the J Team with a free spirited horizontal management
style that emphasizes quality and creativity. Her vision is to weave
together the vines of tradition with those of contemporary
innovation.
Food Parings:
Aside from
the obvious caviar, oysters and rich pate, this sparkling is
terrific with sushi, shrimp cocktail and as a special toast.
Cellaring:
This
Brut will drink very well for another 5 or 6 years and perhaps well
beyond.
