Description
Tangy and racy Riesling that will tickle your palate all the way
through into the long, citrusy finish. This wine shows remarkable
polish and is a true example of where Hartmut has headed as a
winemaker.
The fruit concentration is superb!
Origin
Hartmut Bernhard is quickly approaching his pinnacle as a wine maker
and we as wine drinkers will reap the rewards. The Hessen is noted
for big, rambunctious wines and that is a good beginning description
of the Bernard line but they are never clumsy and offer a “polish”
seldom found in German late harvest wines and almost never found in
late harvest wines outside of Germany.
Still only a tiny producer with annual production of 5,900 cases,
the winery is just now moving into the all stainless steel and oak
mode of operation.
Food
Parings
It is a perfect sipping wine and would do
great with good seafood, especially scallops, shrimp and shellfish.
Cellar Hints
Keep it cool (55-65 degrees F).
Enjoy now out to 4 years.
