Description
Only 4% of the wines made by Darting are produced from Muskateller
(500 cases) and that’s a real shame given the unique, enjoyable
character of this wine. My first tasting of the wine began with this
incredible wild flower bouquet of ripe Muskat that had me sniffing
more than sipping. One taste and you know you have something really
special.
Darting’s wines have great integrity and his wines from 2001, 2002
and 2003 are pure hedonism. In Germany, a tiny number of wineries
are considered “classified growths” and this one is near the top of
the list.
Kabinett is a QmP (Qualitatswein mit Praedikat) produced from the
best bunches of grapes from the main harvest.
Origin
OK...let’s take the top importer of great German wines in the US,
Terry Theise, and then let’s ask him who his best producer is for
quality and value. With no hesitation he says Kurt Darting.
“Extraordinary Value For Money” for superbly made reductively
brilliant wines,” he is quoted.
The “reductive” creed basically says that every time you handle a
wine you reduce its quality. This minimal contact allows the true
brilliance of the wine to show through!
With 12,500 cases released yearly never hesitate when selecting...
