Description/Palate
These people know
how to make great Pinot Noir! Robert Parker Jr. must agree as he
awarded this wine a 90 rating after tasting it. This rich,
voluptuous Pinot has warm aromas of roasted cherry and smoked meat.
The flavors of spicy red berries and bitter cherry are accented by a
subtle mint note. Tangy and fresh on the finish.
Origin
The Willamette Valley on Oregon is becoming legendary for great
Pinot Noir and this wine lives up to that claim. Harry Peterson-Nedry
as founder and winemaker at Chehalem has stayed with a hands-on
approach to making great wines and turned his love of fine wines
into a drive to make great wines of his own.
Food Parings
This blockbuster
would combine really well with rich full bodied meat dishes, rich
wine reduction seasoning and smoked pork loin only to name a few.
Use it like you would a Grand Cru Burgundy.
Cellar Hints
Keep it cool (55-65 degrees F).
Wow... this is
a tough call as the wine is so good right now I doubt that much of
it will be around in years to come. It will cellar well for 7 to 10
years and watch out for the results...it will knock your socks off!
