Description/Palate
The
wine offers well-integrated aromas of pear, peach, ripe citrus, oak
spice, and honey. Lush texture and full, ripe flavors on the
mid-palate that are enhanced by malolactic creaminess and less
complexity.
Background
|
Headed by
winemaker Paul Moser, Cartlidge & Browne winery's
production team takes advantage of the accumulated
market knowledge and extensive contacts with grape
growers, wine producers and brokers that result form
more than twenty five years in the wine business.
Wines are blended from
various sources in California including our vineyard
program consisting of both long-term and short-term
contracts as well as bulk wine contracts. Cartlidge &
Brown's range of wines are styled to be immediately
accessible to a broad spectrum of wine drinkers will
maintaining a consistent quality, vintage after vintage;
as well as, representing outstanding value for money.
Chardonnay is our most
popular varietal, garnering critical acclaim for over
eight years in a row by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
“The question that begs
to be answered is why so many producers ignore what
Cartlidge and Browne does better than just about anybody
else in the state - produce fruit forward , pure,
varietally correct, delicious wines... This estate's
Chardonnay has always been a great value…” - Robert
Parker, Dec. 2003
The success of our brand
is attested by the consistently excellent reviews and
awards that come from many sources including Wine &
Spirits, Food & Wine, and Wine Spectator Magazines;
Newspapers such as The New York Times, The San Francisco
Chronicle, USA Today, the Washington Post; and awards
received from wine competitions such as the Orange
County Fair, the California State Fair, among others…

Food Parings
This is a whole lot of wine for the price! The wine has a broad
application because of its style. Try it with grilled chicken, pork
or German sausage. It would also compliment dinner salads (Cobb,
Caesar, Chef, Nicoise, Spinach, etc.) or pasta dishes with white
sauces such as Alfredo or Quatro Fromaggio...even Linguine with
white clam sauce. As always, it would be great with your favorite
seafood!
Cellar Hints
Keep it cool (55-65 degrees F).
Drink now and through 2006...cellar it properly and enjoy!
