Description
IIt is the quality of the fruit you look for
here, and this is about as lovely as it gets; a delicate mélange of
sweet apple, white peach, honeysuckle, expressed in terms that are
never overstated...they’re just right!
Because of the shear size and richness of his fruit he reduces his
use of sulfur by 1/3 over any of the producers in the area.
This Spaetlese is a Grand Cru of the late harvest and a great
selection for any serious German section in your wine cellar.
Origin
Peter Jost has a much deserved reputation for making top-flight
Rieslings from his magnificent estate. His annual production is a
tiny 5.900 cases and almost none of that sees the shores of the
U.S.
The quality of his fruit becomes a measuring standard for those who
want to produce magnificent wines anywhere in Germany.
The entire region of the Mittelrhein only plants 450 hectares to
grapes; Jost maintains only 8.5 hectares. The wines come from
similar soil of the Mosel and had a marked similarity in styling.

love this wine with pork dishes as well.
